John Welch Robinson Jr, son of John Welch Robinson Sr and Elizabeth Mitchell, was born 11 Jan 1831 Darby Twp., Union Co OH; died after 1915 Union Co OH; married 8 Feb 1855 Union Co OH to Sarah Coe, daughter of Daniel Coe and wife Mary Gladden, who was born 24 May 1831 Canonsburg, Peters Twp., Washington Co PA; and died 30 May 1901. They were buried in Oakdale Cemetery, Marysville, Union Co OH. Naaman J. Woodland, Jr., an OGS member and Philip Coe descendant, sent photocopies of two 25th wedding anniversary invitations for Jno. W. Robinson and Sarah Coe on Saturday, 7 Feb 1880, and for her brother Philip Coe and his wife Louisa S. Smith, on 9 Feb 1880. Both couples had been married at the same time, 8 Feb 1855, but as staunch Presbyterians, did not host the celebration on the Sabbath, but celebrated either side of it. An examination of the Union County marriage records reveals that Lafayette Swain and Elizabeth Coe, and James W. Robinson and Mary J. Cassil, were also married that same day. John W. Robinson purchased his 240 acre farm near Marysville OH in 1858 and he was a successful farmer and stock raiser. He was the first Master of Grange No. 404 which he organized, and served as Treasurer of the County Grange. A Republican, Robinson served several terms as a member of the Board of Township Trustees. John W. Robinson's will [Union Co Will Record O, pp. 61-64] allows for the care of his son Heber who was of a "dependent condition." The will was made 13 Mar 1901, with codicils of 28 Apr 1905 and 9 Jun 1915.
