OBADIAH NEWCOMB BUSH

Obadiah Newcomb Bush, son of Timothy Bush and wife Lydia Newcomb, was born 28 Jan 1797 in Penfield, Monroe Co NY; and died in 1851 "at sea", en route from California. He was married 8 Nov 1821 at Rochester, Monroe Co NY to Harriet Smith, daughter of Sanford Smith and wife Priscilla Whipple, who was born 12 May 1800 in Cambridge, Washington Co NY; and died 21 Jun 1869 in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co OH. Harriet's obituary may be found in the Cincinnati Commercial 22 & 23 Jun 1869, the Cincinnati Daily Times 23 Jun 1869, and the Cincinnati Daily Gazette 22, 24 Jun 1869. The Ohio Historical Society had films for a fourth newspaper, the Cincinnati Semi-Weekly Gazette, 25 Jun 1869: "Died. BUSH - Monday evening, June 21st, at the residence of her son-in-law, R.B. Marsh, Esq., 'Hidaway,' near Loveland, Ohio, Mrs. Harriet Bush, mother of O.N. and W.M. Bush, of this city, aged 69 years." They also had a son James Smith Bush.
